Why I Love Doing Outdoor Photo Shoots in Nature

I feel the most grounded and at peace when I’m out in nature.

The feeling of dirt between my toes, the beauty of soft moss growing off the old dying log, the discovery of little critters in the woods, the sun peeking through the trees and the warmth of it on my skin.

I love all of it… every last bit. And, I love taking my clients outside for their lifestyle photography sessions!

It’s a chance to spend an hour being playful with your loved ones, adventuring together in a beloved family or new place, having a fun little date out in nature… at a spacious park, on a wooded path, or even on your own property like some of my clients have done.

Sessions with me will never feel like just another thing to check off your to-do list. Let’s find an outdoor location that fits your vision and brings out the smiles… a place where you get to discover a little more about yourself, your partner or your family and let that shine in your portraits!

A place where you get to watch (and I get to capture) your children’s curiosity kick in while they attempt to catch frogs and climb up on big rocks to show off how “strong” they are. Or where sweet little moments can happen… sunrise snuggles on a picnic blanket, walking through a lush field holding hands, soft kisses in the golden glow of a sunset.

I can’t help but notice how being in nature connects my clients with that grounded, peaceful, adventurous side of themselves, too. So many have shared afterward how much they enjoyed the experience of their outdoor session just as much as they loved their final photos!

Have you done an outdoor photo shoot in nature before? I’d love for you to share in the comments what your favorite thing about doing an outdoor shoot is!
